Role of the raw coffee trader

Hello, I’m Prunella from “Le Piantagioni del Caffè” and I am going to talk to you about the importance of the role of the raw coffee trader.

The raw coffee trader buys coffee in the countries of origin and resells it to roasters. His role is to create a bridge between the producers and the roasters.
But, also to take care of all the raw coffee logistics until it arrives at the unloading port, and of financing.
Especially in the case of small and very small producers, the trader finances them in advance of the  harvest, that is to make sure they can work.
In our specific case, our trader’s value is to support us from a logistical and financial point of view because the Specialty coffee selection is done directly from us by traveling to the countries of origin.
