Grind Size

This term refers to the grind level of the coffee, or the size of the ground coffee particles measured in microns: a lower value indicates a fine grind size, while a higher value indicates a coarser grind size.

The smaller the grind size the less time it needs to be in contact with water to extract the substances contained in the ground coffee.
